Zero Telemetry & Absolute Device Privacy

SpendWise: Expense & Budget operates entirely on your physical hardware. Vertex Apps does not collect, sell, harvest, or transmit your personal data, logs, app preferences, or telemetry to external servers. Your device is your sanctuary.

1. Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the official Android mobile application SpendWise: Expense & Budget engineered by Vertex Apps ("Studio", "we", "our", or "us").

Expense tracker & budget planner with multi-currency support, 100% offline Our studio architecture follows the strict principle of minimal privilege and complete local isolation. We believe that modern utilities do not require cloud surveillance to provide exceptional user utility.

2. Information Collection and Storage

SpendWise: Expense & Budget does not collect or log personally identifiable information (PII). All user-generated configurations, workflows, and inputs remain exclusively within your device's private sandbox:

  • Local On-Device Preferences: Settings, display configurations, user toggles, and saved states are saved strictly in Android Room SQLite or EncryptedSharedPreferences on your hardware.
  • Zero Cloud Infrastructure: Vertex Apps does not maintain remote user databases or backend servers for this application. There are no accounts to create, passwords to remember, or profile data harvested.
  • Zero Behavioral Tracking: We do not track keystrokes, screen usage frequency, geographic coordinates, or interaction histories.
  • Local File Export & Backup: Any backup, export, or reporting files generated within the application are saved directly to your local file system where you specify.

3. Android System Permissions

To execute its native functions on Android 8.0+ (API 26+), SpendWise: Expense & Budget may request the minimum necessary operating system permissions. Each permission is requested at runtime with transparent user consent:

Camera (Receipt Capture)

Required only if you choose to attach a receipt photo to an expense transaction. Photos never leave your device.

Notifications & Alarms

Required to trigger scheduled budget limit warnings and recurring bill payment reminders on your device.

Local CSV Backup Storage

Required only when you manually export or import your financial transaction spreadsheets to device storage.

Zero Financial Linking

SpendWise does not connect to banking APIs (Plaid/Yodlee). No account numbers, logins, or balances are ever shared.

4. Third-Party Services & Network Activity

Because SpendWise: Expense & Budget is designed to operate offline, it does not transmit data to advertising networks, user-profiling exchanges, or tracking services.

Standard operating system integrations provided by Google Play Services (such as APK license verification, in-app billing for studio support, or anonymous crash reports aggregated by Google Play Console) operate under Google's Privacy Policy. Vertex Apps has no direct access to individual Google Play account IDs.

5. Data Retention, Export & Deletion

Since all data is localized to your physical hardware, you maintain perpetual and irrevocable authority over your records:

  • In-App Controls: You may edit, clear, or reset application preferences directly inside the app's settings menu at any time.
  • System Clear Data: Navigating to Android Settings → Apps → SpendWise: Expense & Budget → Storage → Clear Storage / Data will completely wipe all local SQLite databases, caches, and key-value stores.
  • Uninstalling: Uninstalling the application removes all application-private storage sandbox partitions permanently from your device.

6. Children's Privacy & Family Safety

SpendWise: Expense & Budget is a general-audience utility suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policy. If you have reason to believe a minor has provided data, please contact us immediately for assistance.
